Singapore Horse Racing: Friday Night at Kranji

brought to you by Knightsbridge, be part of the fun of racing in Singapore with Knightsbridge

Normally the 1st race on the card on Fridays in Singapore is worth missing, but tonight it looks like an interesting affair.

RACE 1: COUNTOFMONTECRISTO 2017 STAKES CLASS 5 - 1400M COURSE C (SC) (TURF TRACK) TIME: 12:45 PRIZE MONEY: S$20000

PEER GYNT (7) looks the best here, has been racing better horses and has even put in a respectable effort in Group company. His stablemate SUN FORCE (8) has not done much in Singapore but recent trials indicate he is ready to show something. AEOLUS (1) professional place getter and expected to be thereabouts at the finish.

RACE 2: CONFLIGHT 2016 STAKES OPEN MAIDEN (WEIGHT FOR AGE) - 1100M (POLYTRACK) TIME: 13:15 PRIZE MONEY: S$20000

SATELLITE MASTER (5) is hard to go past in this one, a couple of good runs on the board and the benefit of Glen Boss in the saddle, should take this. BAN THE DOUBT (12) solid debut and will be improving. CONSERVATION (10) another horse with only one start and was far from disgraced, expect a forward showing.

A great chance to get involved in what could be Singapore's next champion, part 1.

RACE 3: KIWI KARMA 2015 STAKES CLASS 4 PREMIER - 1100M (POLYTRACK) TIME: 13:45 PRIZE MONEY: S$60000

PREFERRED (10) has been very consistent and is overdue for a win. SNIP (3) will give him a run for his money, in good form of late and has real claims here. Last start winner LUCKY MASTER (7) to fill the placings.

RACE 4: WAR AFFAIR 2014 STAKES CLASS 5 - 1600M (POLYTRACK) TIME: 14:15 PRIZE MONEY: S$20000

GOLD CUSTOMER (8) is our roughie for the night, has been a flop in Singapore but the recent change of stable seems to have given him some new life, good E/W chance. KASHAN (3) with Duric on board is the danger. The old fella MILITARY ALLIANCE (1) put in a good run last time out, consider him for your exotics, us old fellas can be surprising.

RACE 5: STEITUP 2013 STAKES CLASS 4 NON PREMIER - 1400M COURSE C (SC) (TURF TRACK) TIME: 14:50 PRIZE MONEY: S$45000

SECRET SQUIRREL (12) Bossy will make the difference here, the horse finishes very well and will get every chance, he should finish over the top of them. SAHABA (6) is a handy horse but is drawn the car park in this and that is an obstacle to overcome at 1400m. O’REILLY BAY (5) will test them, worth considering.

RACE 6: SUPER EASY 2012 STAKES KRANJI STAKES B (SET WEIGHTS) - 2000M COURSE C (SC) (TURF TRACK) TIME: 15:20 PRIZE MONEY: S$100000

CHAIRMAN (1) the regally bred Galileo gelding is down in grade and is a quality racehorse. DEE DEE D’OR (2) is another one that will benefit from a drop in class and has a real chance of taking this one. EXCELLENCY (3) has good European form and will enjoy the trip, settled in and ready to show best efforts.

RACE 7: GINGERBREAD MAN 2011 STAKES CLASS 4 PREMIER - 1400M COURSE C (SC) (TURF TRACK) TIME: 15:50 PRIZE MONEY: S$60000

DON DE LA VEGA (2) a young horse that looks like he can gallop, has his chance in this. CLASSIC (1) a few good runs then a shocker last time out, expect improvement. NEPEAN (3) seems to be taking a while to settle in but worth considering.

RACE 8: BETTER THAN EVER 2010 STAKES CLASS 3 (1) - 1200M COURSE C (SC) (TURF TRACK) TIME: 16:20 PRIZE MONEY: S$80000

MR COLIN (10) you can't knock a winner even one with a bad name, the horse has done everything it has been asked to do and looks like one of Singapore's rising stars. China Horse Club owned CURVATURE (7) is the danger, watch betting, was heavily supported last time out and performed admirably. WONDERFUL KNIGHT (6) will probably try to pinch this, should still be plugging away at the finish line.

RACE 9: SINGAPORE THREE-YEAR-OLD SPRINT GROUP 3 (3 YEAR OLD) (SET WEIGHTS) (1ST LEG - SINGAPORE 3-YEAR-OLD CHALLENGE) (RIDER ALLOWANCES NOT PERMITTED) - 1200M COURSE C (SC) (TURF TRACK) TIME: 16:55 PRIZE MONEY: S$250000

The feature of the night and it looks like a great race.

The Larneuk bred FILIBUSTER (16) has proven to be a very impressive 3yo filly and she gets our slightly biased vote in this one. BE BEE (4) is a quality 3yo will be tough to beat as will NOWYOUSEE (3). We have a couple of Larneuk bred horses getting ready for Singapore, contact Knightsbridge for details.

RACE 10: MOORING 2009 STAKES CLASS 3 - 1600M COURSE C (SC) (TURF TRACK) TIME: 17:30 PRIZE MONEY: S$80000

We have been a fan of the Stephen Gray trained BILLY BRITAIN (9) for a while, he has a strong finish and if they make any mistakes in this they will not hold him out. O’WHAT A FEELING (6) will lead and if left alone in front has a chance of stealing this. KING LOUIS (8) for the exotics.

A great chance to get involved in what could be Singapore's next champion, part 2.

RACE 11: BIG MAVERICK 2008 STAKES CLASS 3 (2) - 1200M COURSE C (SC) (TURF TRACK) TIME: 18:00 PRIZE MONEY: S$80000

LIM’S BLAST (8) if he can reproduce recent form he has a good shot at winning this, like the distance and the turf, the rails draw helps. TALES OF SUMMER (3) in good form and expect a strong showing. BLACK JADE (7) for the trifecta.
